Foundations

What Is Foundations?

Most fitness certifications teach you…

1. How to perform exercises
2. How to program exercises

Onnit Foundations isn’t just about learning new moves, sets, and reps. It shows you the principles that make for effective training, so that you learn to think critically about exercise and make gains for life.

Hint: it’s not about muscles… it’s about movement. Learning how to move properly helps reduce pain and restriction, and clears the path to all fitness goals.

This foundational education offering isn’t something we pulled out of a magic hat. It’s the culmination of 1000s of hours coaching a variety of people in live, hands-on seminars. Foundations is real-world tested and approved.

Your workouts should give you more than a better body. They should make you a better person, too.

That’s the underlying goal of Foundations, Onnit’s flagship certification course—now available online.

You’ll learn to keep an open-mind, problem-solve, and see exercise as not just a means to an end, but as a form of personal expression—no different than any other creative outlet. Expect all your preconceived notions about fitness to be challenged.

Foundations gives you new insight into how to train, whether it’s to fulfill your own potential, or to help your clients fulfill theirs. Become the best trainer/coach/athlete you can be!

What Do I Need To Complete
Foundations?

The entire Foundations course costs much less than most certifications of this size. While certifications of this depth normally charge $1,000 and up, taking Foundations may require purchasing some additional exercise equipment that you don't have yet which you'll need in order to learn its uses. We've brought the course cost down to offset that expense for you.

For the purposes of learning and optimizing technique development, which is a higher priority and focus in the course over how much you can lift, we recommend having equipment that would be of moderate weight for your current fitness level, which will be different for everyone. If you are still unsure what that looks like, in depth insights are provided in the course prior to starting.

What you don't need:

  • Previous experience with exercise or any workout tools
  • A gym membership

Foundations is designed to meet you where you’re at in your fitness development, even if you’re a beginner.
